I have over 300 hours flying time as a private pilot of light aircraft and gliders. </P> <p>I thought about calling the site Flying for Dummies or Any Idiot Can Fly, but there are enough idiots with pilots licences without encouraging more. Although more demanding than learning to drive, with the exception of people who cannot pass the medical, most people should be able to learn the skills necessary. It does help if you start young, but many people have been able to get their licence later in life. </p> <p> I've tried to show the various ways to fly and let you know about good places to learn, and good places to fly to once you have your licence. </p> <p> Fellow pilots are invited to use the <a href="replyform.htm" target="_blank" > nomination form</a> to recommend good airports to visit and good flying schools.
